Assis dans la posture typique du lotus, très rare pour cette divinité, Ganesh brandit dans sa main droite une défense brisée dont la longueur suggère plutôt un poignard, et dans la main gauche une hache. Le calme et la méditation indiqués par l'assise stable, ainsi que l'abhaya mudra de la main droite inférieure, contrastent donc fortement avec le sens d'action des emblèmes tenus dans les mains supérieures.

Sitting in the typical lotus posture, very rare for this deity, Ganesh holds, in the right hand, a broken tusk, but its length rather suggest a dagger. In the left hand is an axe. Calm and meditation indicated by the firm sitting posture, as well as the right hand in abhaya mudra, are in strong contrast with the meaning of action shown by the emblems in the upper hands.
